Job Announcement

CCIM is the only independent and professional media organization in Cambodia that works to promote human rights and responsible journalism through both media production and dissemination, and the implementation of community projects. CCIM is looking for candidates to fill in various positions as below:

  1. Project Coordinator

                 Scope: The Project Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the project “VOICES FOR GENDER EQUALITY: Empowering women, LGBTQ persons, WHRDs and communities to demand justice and combat gender-based violence” (1 March 2018 to 28 February 2022). in collaboration with Dan Church Aid (DCA) and implementing partners. to provide individual project coordination and administration under support from the Project Manager. He/she will also effectively and smoothly implement, monitor, and report of respective project through the systematic use of CCIM project management tools and process.           

                 Report to: Senior Project Manager

                 Manages: None

            Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate closely with DCA as the proponent of the project and with partners (CCHR and NGO-CEDAW) in implementing the project
  2. Supervise project implementation according to the project agreement and agreed plans
  3. Coordinate and work closely with other department to ensure smooth implementation of activities of the project assigned to staff in other departments.
  4. Ensure proper monitoring and reporting of the project
  5. Other duties as required

            Position Criteria

  • Graduate qualification on human rights, community development, social sciences or any related field; completion of graduate studies is an advantage.
  • At least, 2 years experiences in project management of any project, advocacy project is an advantage.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills and ability to manage sensitive issues with various stakeholders while motivating others.
  • Excellent spoken and written Khmer language skills
  • Can communicate in spoken and written English language
  • Sound understanding of Cambodian context in terms of human rights, freedom of expression, access to information, and media landscape
  • Sound understanding of gender and willingness to promote gender equality and women empowerment both within CCIM and through its projects
  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance.

 

  1. News Editor

                 Scope: The News Editor is responsible for editing and publishing the qualities of daily bulletin news on time.

                 Reports to: Media Director

                 Manages: Reporter

            Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the qualities of production and publishing of the daily news.
  2. Develop work plan and annual calendar for the team such as suggested interviews, features, special event productions.
  3. Participate with other teams to design recommendations and participate in activities designed to encourage staff motivation & capacity development.
  4. Keep tracking the daily news reports done to data system.
  5. Provide capacity building internally and externally if required by CCIM.
  6. Other duties as required

Position Criteria

  • A bachelor’s degree in the media sector or other relevant field
  • At least three years’ experience as News Editor
  • Experience in using Adobe Audition 3.0 or similar software
  • Able to work flexible hours and travel to province
  • Good team player
  • Proficient English speaker and capable of listening, writing and reading in English
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Capable of using social media networks, internet and email
  • Competent at typing Khmer Unicode and using Microsoft office
  • Good communication skills and relations with other journalists
  • Wider understanding of social issues
  • Capable of creative, critical thinking and speaking
  • Able to work overtime, on roster, on holiday or on weekend, and travel to the provinces when required
  • Ability to write national and/or international news analysis for online and radio
  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance

 

  1. IT Officer

                 Scope: The IT Officer is responsible for innovating and maintaining CCIM’s IT systems and networks together with the CCIM, Sarika and VODhotnews.com websites and other IT related web development work.

                 Reports to: Online Editor

                 Manages: None

            Responsibilities

  1. Maintain CCIM servers, networks and other technological systems to ensure the organization can operate in a smooth manner
  2. Provide advice on, training on and develop ICT policies and guidelines
  3. Assist the Media and Projects teams as required
  4. Other duties as required

Position Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in ICT or a related field
  • At least 3 years successful experience in ICT services
  • Knowledge of the latest technology for IT security systems
  • Knowledge in using smartphone and social network
  • Ability in sharing and training ICT tools to others
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong commitment to diversity and working knowledge of MS Office, computer literacy as well as other key languages including PHP, HTML, CMS and using SEO
  • Cambodian citizen with good Khmer and English oral and written skills
  • Highly self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills with ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
  • Be able to travel to province and work under pressure
  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance.

 

  1. 3 Producers

                 Scope: The Radio/TV Online Producer is responsible for producing the assigned Radio Programs or TV Online shows, assist the production chief in other unit works, including spot production.

                 Reports to: Production Chief

                 Manages: None

            Responsibilities

  1. Produce Radio/TV Program
  2. Participate in the meetings as a representative of CCIM
  3. Provide training on Radio/TV Program
  4. Assist Production Chief in monitoring staff performance and capacity building and produce report as required
  5. Other duties as required

Position Criteria

  • A bachelor’s degree in the media sector or other relevant field
  • At least three year experiences in producing radio programs
  • Fluent in Khmer language
  • Good knowledge of English (listening, writing, speaking, and reading)
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Capable of creative, critical thinking and speaking
  • Good computer​ literacy across MS Office programs and competent at typing Khmer Unicode
  • Honest and strong leadership skills
  • Wide understanding of social issues in Cambodia
  • Ability to provide training on radio program
  • Experience in using Adobe Audition or similar software
  • Able to work on holiday or on weekend, and travel to the provinces when required
  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance.

The Radio Producer must be a dedicated team member with a passion for press freedom issues in Cambodia and with a demonstrable understanding of the goals of CCIM and VOD.
